Tips to get the best New Bern vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Pamlico area area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Summer months are high season in the Pamlico area area. To get the largest vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Pamlico area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning, picking, and booking your Pamlico area rental home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Moonlight Suite 198* has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
