Tips and Tricks to get the best New Bern vacation property experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • In the Pamlico area area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Pamlico area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Pamlico area area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Pamlico area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the perfect rental in the Pamlico area area:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Townhome with 2 bedrooms plus loft sleeping area, perfect for your next vacation has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If not, email the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Contact the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
