Strategies for getting the perfect New Bern rental experience:

Find your best deal:

  • In the Pamlico area area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Pamlico area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Pamlico area area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning, picking, and booking the best Pamlico area rental:

  • To start, have your group agree to trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Lovely 1 BR with King bed Apt 3 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Pamlico area vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Pamlico area attraction you crave, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
