How to book the best New Bern vacation property experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- Summer months are high season in New Bern. Book your rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies supply Pamlico area area travel guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the perfect vacation rental:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Moonlight Suite 196* has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or applied to your contract.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
