How to find the best New Bern rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Pamlico area area. Book your vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Pamlico area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Pamlico area area visitors guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Pamlico area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and pick your prefectvacation home:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Lovely 1 BR with King bed Apt 4 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If there's a specific Pamlico area destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
