New Bern vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Getting the best value:

  • In the Pamlico area area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the best rental home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Pamlico area area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Pamlico area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose a perfectvacation home:

  • Select dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Little Queen on Craven has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Pamlico area attraction you crave, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
