Our top New Bern rental booking tips:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summer time is high season in the Pamlico area area. To get the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Pamlico area area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose your dates and max budget.
- Near New Bern Waterfront has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
