The cabin is located on a pine grove lot with access to a SHARED private dock on deep water Brices Creek. Brices Creek flows into the Trent and Neuse Rivers and then out to the Atlantic Ocean. You are encouraged to use one of our kayaks to appreciate the water. Other activities include swimming, fishing, crabbing & boating. Don't miss a chance to prepare a s'more over our enormous fire pit.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE QUEEN BED AND ONE TWIN BED ARE IN LOFTS THAT REQUIRE RENTERS TO CLIMB LADDERS TO ACCESS THESE BEDS. Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Pamlico area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and pick your prefect Pamlico area rental:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. The Sanderling Tiny Cabin Water Access/Private Shared dock has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Pamlico area vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
