Getting the best New Bern rental home experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Pamlico area rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the largest rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Pamlico area attractions.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Pamlico area area travel guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Pamlico area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking your prefectrental:

  • Select dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Historic Heath House steps from the Neuse River has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Pamlico area rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a specific Pamlico area destination you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
