Getting the best New Bern vacation property experience:

When to visit New Bern & When to reserve a New Bern rental home:

  • Summer months are high season in the Pamlico area area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Pamlico area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Pamlico area area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Pamlico area area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Pamlico area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting and booking the right Pamlico area rental home:

  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
