Strategies for getting the perfect New Bern vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • In the Pamlico area area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Pamlico area restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Pamlico area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Pamlico area area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Finding the best vacation home:

  • Choose vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Near airport, restaurants, and river, Smart Tvs in all rooms has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a certain Pamlico area beach you are crazy about, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the host's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
