Tips to get the best New Bern vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summer is high season in the Pamlico area area. Reserve your Pamlico area rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Pamlico area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

Choosing the perfect vacation home in New Bern:

  • First, have your group commit to dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Near airport, restaurants, and river, Smart Tvs in all rooms has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Pamlico area rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a specific Pamlico area destination you crave, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
