Tips for getting the best Pamlico area rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Pamlico area rental home:
- Summertime is high season in New Bern. To get the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Pamlico area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Pamlico area area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Pamlico area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.
How to pick the best rental home:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Historic Downtown Clock Tower View Condo-2 Bedroom has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Pamlico area rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
